Filing an Unpaid Item Dispute

Bidbuysell believes that most disputes may usually be resolved with direct communication by involved parties. However, should this prove overwhelmingly problematic, sellers may seek to solve the issue by following the steps below:

1. File an Unpaid Item dispute. The seller completes this form and may do so up to 45 days after the end of the auction. This may be done if they seller has not heard from the highest bidder within 7 days of the end of the auction, unless the buyer has deleted their membership from Bidbuysell or resides in a country where the seller has nominated not to ship the item.

Both of these circumstances allow for the immediate lodging of Filing an Unpaid Item. The buyer will then receive an Unpaid Item Strike in their user profile and the seller will be credited their fees.

2. Bidbuysell contacts the buyer Once a seller has completed and lodged the Unpaid Item form, Bidbuysell will email the buyer requesting that they settle with the seller. Should the buyer log into Bidbuysell within 14days after the lodgement of the dispute form by the seller, a pop up screen will appear automatically, requesting payment.

  • Buyers who renege will be given an Unpaid Item strike on their User profile if he or she agrees that they have decided not to go ahead with payment. In this case, the seller will receive a fee credit for the auction.
  • If a buyer is still not contactable after 7 days, the seller is able to close the dispute and will receive a Fee Credit. The buyer will receive an unpaid Item Strike.

    3. Buyer and Seller communication. Bidbuysell encourages communication between both parties to remedy disputes.

    4. Closing the dispute. Disputes maybe closed from the moment a seller hears from a buyer or if the buyer has not responded to the seller within 7 days.

If both parties are satisfied with the settlement of the situation, the buyer will not receive a strike and the seller will not receive a credit.

If both parties agree not to continue with the dispute but payment is not received, the buyer will not receive a strike and the seller will receive a Fee Credit. The seller may also re-list the item.

All disputes must be closed within 60 days of the ending of the auction. Disputes not closed by this time will be closed automatically and the seller will not receive a Fee Credit.
