Radio communications Products
There are laws governing the use of many radio communication products like two-way radios, amateur radios, marine radios etc. The use of many of these devices is regulated through the Australian Communications Agency, http://www.aca.gov.au . Bidbuysell urges members to research, to find out whether their item complies with the standards set out by the ACA. Below is a general guide:

Receivers and Electronic Devices
These are subject to the ACA standards. You must refer to the ACA standards for these devices before listing.

Scanners
Sales of scanning devices in Australia are not restricted but their usage may be subject to the Telecommunications Interception Act. Bidbuysell buyers are urged to contact their local authorities to find out any restrictions on the usages of such devices.

Radar Detectors
These devices are outlawed on Bidbuysell.

Transmitters
There are restrictions and regulations placed on these items. Users must be licensed in order to operate such devices.

CB (Citizen Band) Radios
Users of these devices are regulated by the Citizen Band Radio Stations Class Licence. These devices must only be operated on two frequency bands:

HF -26.965 MHz to 27.405 MHz inclusive UHF - 476.425 MHz to 477.400 MHz inclusive

You must be sure that your item complies with the standards set out by the ACA.

CB Amplifiers
These are prohibited from sale on Bidbuysell

Amateur Radio Equipment
There are restrictions on Bidbuysell covering the sale of these items. Contact Us for more information.

Low Interference Potential Devices
Items such as short range walkie-talkies, Audio Video Senders, remote controlled toys and wireless cameras may affect other communication devices. Consequently there are limits on their bands of operation. Check with the ACA

Mobile Telephone Jammers
These devices are prohibited from sale on Bidbuysell.

Telecommunications Products
While it is allowable to sell telephones, facsimile machines, answering machines and modems on Bidbuysell, we encourages you to visit ACA to register as a supplier and ensure that your item complies with the safety standards set out by the ACA.

Sellers should include their supplier code in the auction description.

Mobile Telephone Booster Amplifiers
Some of these items are banned by the ACA and consequently on Bidbuysell. Only devices that are attached to a handset and do not rely on an external power source are allowable on Bidbuysell.

Voice Over IP (VoIP)
These items are subject to ACA regulations. Items that do not comply with these regulations will be ended.

High Powered Cordless Telephones
Check before listing such a device as some do not comply with standards set out by the ACA. Those that do not comply are not allowable on Bidbuysell and auctions listing such devices will be ended.

Mobile Telephone Unlocking Codes.
These are prohibited from sale on Bidbuysell.
