Duplicate Listings

Duplicate listings are allowed on bidbuysell so long as there are not more than ten items involved and that the seller can complete each sale. Bidbuysell recommends using a Multiple Listing Auction (or Dutch auction) for this situation. The seller should pay particular attention to ensure that items are listed in relevant areas if he or she intends to list them in more than one area. Sellers who list more than ten identical items will have those listing ended automatically.

If you accidentally duplicate your listing, End Your Listing.

Dutch auction format for Buyers
A Dutch auction is one where more than one of a particular item is listed. This could be an auction where the seller has fifty identical hairbrushes to sell.

In a Dutch auction (or Multiple Item auction) you may bid for more than one of these items. When the auction starts, the seller will nominate a starting price. Usually most bidders bid that price, however, if more people bid than there are items, the items will be won by the earliest successful bidders. However if you have bid a winning price for four of the items and the seller can only supply 3, you have the right to refuse to go ahead with the purchase!

Dutch auction format for Sellers
The best way to sell more than one of the same item is to create a Dutch auction.

In this auction you list the quantity of items you have and nominate a starting price.

Buyers bid, also stating the quantity that the wish to buy. Those buyers who are successful must have a higher combined bid price than other bidders. Winning buyers all pay the same price, which is the lowest successful bid. The highest bidders must get the number of items they have bid for in the auction.

While this is a tremendous way of selling multiple items there are a few stipulations for sellers wishing to open such an auction:

The combined price by quantity of the listing must be less than $120,000

The seller must enjoy a feedback rating of 20 or more

The seller must be a registered Bidbuysell member for 14 days or more.
