Selling policy: Your listing - copyrights and trademarks
Copyrights, trademarks and other naming rights and their use are extremely complex areas.
It is understandably often difficult to work out where you stand when you write a listing for your item. To infringe on these laws can result in legal prosecution. On Bidbuysell it can mean that your listing will be ended and suspension from the site.

Some tips about Copyrights:

  • Only use photographs and text that you have created yourself.
  • Do not copy photographs from other identical items on the Internet or from other sellers.
  • Never include a link to a photograph or description of and item that is elsewhere on the internet or Bidbuysell.
  • If you do contemplate using a photograph that you have not taken yourself, always ask permission from its owner.

    Some tips about Trademarks:

  • Never associate a particular brand with an item if the item is not made by the brand. For instance, if you are selling a wallet, do not use a trademarked brand name if the wallet is not made by that company.
  • You can possibly use a brand name to sell an item made by that company but never insinuate in your item description that the company has given permission for you to do so if they have not.

If you suspect another member has used a photograph or some text that you have created and used on Bidbuysell in the past, contact Bidbuysell and include an overview of the situation.
