Checklist for Sellers

Here are some tips for members considering selling on BidBuySell.

1. Register. It's a simple process. You will be asked to verify your identity in the registration process. You may either use your credit or debit card or have a letter posted to you at your postal address. This letter will contain a confirmation code. 2. What will you sell? The sky is the limit! Anything from a car, vase or even an old pair of boots. If you're thinking of selling in a big way, you can always buy items in numbers on BidBuySell and resell them. 3. Item Description. Make sure you describe the item as best as you can. What would you want to know about it if you were going to buy it? Is it old/new? How big? What is the condition? How will you send it to the winning bidder? 4. Auction or Buy Now? You can do either or if you have more than one of the same item, you may do both. However, to use the Buy Now option, you must have a feed back of 5 or more. 5. Pricing. Have a look around on BidBuySell for other items that are the same or similar to yours. This will give you a good idea of what you should set as your starting price. You may browse current items to gauge an idea or alternatively do an advanced search and tick the box to include 'Completed Items'

A - Checkout for Sellers
When you write a listing, include all the necessary information that will assist buyers in making their payment.

By specifying things like postage costs and any other costs in the purchase, the buyer can then proceed straight to checkout. Checkout will automatically calculate the total cost for the buyer and inform them where to send payment for the item. Sellers will receive an email detailing the buyer's address and payment method.

Payment can be made even easier if sellers list their banking details in Checkout. To do this, just press Bank Deposit Express in the Payment section and enter your banking information.

How will a buyer pay for the purchase?
When a seller complete's a Sell Your Item Form, they will be asked to stipulate their preferred payment methods in the Payment Instruction Section.

Is it possible to enter costs for more than one postage option?
Yes. Simply enter the different methods and amounts in the Payment Instruction Section. The buyer will then choose their preferred postage option when they checkout.

Checkout: Updating Your Preferences
All you have to do to change your preferences to utilise Checkout is go to My Account, click the preference tab and then Update Checkout Preferences and select the preferences you want.
